AGING . OILY . PIGMENTATION . ALLERGY
Your Profile
Your AOPA Skin Type is Oily, Sensitive, and Pigmented, with an increased risk for premature skin aging.
You have a complex skin type characterized by inflammation manifested as redness and rashes. The inflammation leads to hyperpigmentation and an increased risk of skin aging, making it mandatory for this skin type to use anti-inflammatory and antioxidant ingredients. The skin’s natural oil provides some antioxidant protection, but it is not enough to protect your skin type from aging.
Your skin type often has large pores, and it may feel shiny during the day. You experience one or more of the following: facial flushing, facial redness, visible blood vessels, and skin rashes.
You struggle to find the correct skincare products that do not aggravate your symptoms. Consistent everyday use of the correct products will allow your skin to repair itself, hold onto water and reduce its tendency for stinging and burning.

Hydrated skin

No Breakouts
The excellent news for Aging.Oily.Pigmentation.Allergy (AOPA) skin types are that your skin produces enough sebum (oil) to keep your skin hydrated.
The inflammation you experience causes normal skin microbiome disruption but does not present as acne breakouts.

Inflammation

Pigmentation

Microbiome disruption

Premature skin aging
Aging.Oily.Pigmentation.Allergy (AOPA) skin's natural microbiome is altered, and the balance between normal microbes is disrupted, allowing harmful microbes to invade the skin and trigger inflammation.
Your inflammation and allergy-prone skin are more susceptible to premature skin aging and hyperpigmentation, presenting as dark spots and uneven skin tone. Sun exposure exacerbates pigmentation problems, as the sun’s UV rays trigger your skin to produce more and more melanin, the pigment that gives your skin its color.
- Skin prone to inflammation.
- Uneven skin tone with dark spots or patches.
- Sensitive skin that reacts to various stimuli and products.
- Oily skin with enlarged pores in certain AOPA types.
- Premature skin aging.
- No inflammation.
- Radiant skin with an even skin tone.
- No allergic skin reactions.
- Regulated sebum (oil) production with clear and minimised pores.
- Protection and correction of premature skin aging incl. lines, wrinkles.
TREATMENT OBJECTIVES FOR YOUR AOPA SKIN

Increase cell turnover and smooth skin texture. Replace dull and dead skin cells with remodelled skin layers. Resurfacing procedures can induce new collagen formation with a more structured pattern.

Repair damaged skin barrier and restore barrier function. Boost the protective skin layer by increasing the production of elastin, collagen, ceramides, and lipids.

Correct skin damage and protect skin against environmental damage and premature aging. Stop and prevent collagen destruction by inhibiting the activity of free radicals and MMPs (enzymes that cause collagen and elastin destruction).

Hydrate and moisturize the skin on a cellular level. Increase the skin's ability to attract and hold on to moisture. Support and enable the skin to produce natural moisturizing factors.

Reduce inflammation & normalise skin microbiome.

Regulate sebum (oil) production and reduce the appearance of large pores (only for certain AOA types).

Inhibit all the pathways in the hyperpigmentation process to stop the stimulation and transfer of melanin (pigment cells).

- Keep Medi-Zinc cleanser in contact with your skin for 5-10 min.
Tip: Apply to dry skin (so that the cleanser do not run into your eyes - it will sting). Keep on your skin while you ex. brush your teeth, bath, shower or get dressed. Rinse off after 10 min. and wipe your face clean with a clean facecloth or with the microfibre face sponge. - Use DermRepair morning and/or evening as needed (if and when your skin needs extra moisture or an anti-inflammatory treatment).
- Either apply Retinol serum every night and follow up (after 5 min.) with Litaderm serum, or alternate Retinol serum and Litaderm serum at night.
- Very sensitive skin may only tolerate Litaderm serum once daily - either morning or evening. Some AOPA skin types may even be too sensitive for daily application, and will therefore need to apply Litaderm serum every other day until skin becomes more tolerant.
