About Kristin Weixelbaumer

I start my days with breathwork and meditation, as building that core-connection centers me and helps me stay true to my journey. I like to be challenged and I believe that if you’re not learning something new, you’re not growing.

I believe in the power of admitting your mistakes and continuously acknowledging and appreciating your flaws. What’s most important to me, above all, is my family, with Black Betty being my first-child.

And kindness, trying to bring kindness to everyone that crosses my path, including me (which is a continuous battle)*

What is the Vision of black betty?

We are a passionate, alternative brand that pushes boundaries. We specialize in signature pieces for those drawn to striking jewelry that evoke an emotional connection & empowerment.

The strength and beauty synonymous with Black Betty are grounded in organic shape, quality materials and stones, and the natural imperfections that offer originality. We also offer 1 on 1 experiences with our piercing and zapping while bringing out at least 2 collections a year.

I think these moments show that the ultimate vision of our brand is to keep finding all the magical ways jewelry can exist in our lives and on our bodies whilst still maintaining our and updating our main collections.

Where did you find the inspiration?

At the moment, what inspires me most is spending more time in nature, being quiet, and connecting with yourself, your ancestors, and the universe.

Finding ways to walk your journey with grace, kindness, connection, and intent. We are working on our new collection with this in mind - working with gemstones & myths to create jewels that are constant reminders, keepsakes to connect you to your true core, reminding you of who you are and where you are going.

What makes your brand different?

We are fearless when it comes to taking on new challenges in the jewelry business and we aim to have fun and grow while doing it.

The piercing and permanent bracelet (zapping) areas of our business have definitely differentiated us while we continue to play with bespoke and our annual collections.

We have also brought out our BB Club campaign, where we collaborated with talented South African creatives to create bold and iconic pieces.

What gives you confidence as the owner of a business?

My team. I am blessed with the most powerful team that inspires me to bethe best version I can be for my company.
