Your Dermal Diagnosis skin type is characterized by sensory symptoms like burning and stinging rather than a visible condition. The stinging, itching, burning, or related skin discomfort you experience results from triggers affecting your sensitive nerve endings.
The stinging you experience is a non-allergic reaction and may be accompanied by inflammation and redness, but that is not always the case. Your skin type often has large pores, and it may feel shiny during the day.
While the exact cause of stinging varies from person to person, avoiding certain topical ingredients can help to relieve stinging and other unwanted effects. Ascorbic acid, plant extracts, fragrance, alpha hydroxy acids, benzoic acid, and sodium lauryl sulfate are examples of ingredients to avoid if your skin burns or stings.
You enjoy an even skin tone, but your and your skin's natural oil provides some antioxidant protection, but it is not enough to protect your skin type from aging.
You struggle to find the correct skincare products that do not aggravate your symptoms. Consistent everyday use of the correct products will allow your skin to repair itself and reduce its tendency for stinging and burning.

- Either apply Retinol serum every night and follow up (after 5 min.) with Litaderm serum, or alternate Retinol serum and Litaderm serum at night.
- Start by applying Litaderm only twice per week. Increase frequency of use as tolerated by your skin.
- Very sensitive skin may only tolerate Litaderm serum once per day - either morning or evening. Some AOS skin types may even be too sensitive for daily application and will therefore need to apply Litaderm serum every other day until skin becomes more tolerant.
